README -- describes contents of ExtData/CHEM_INPUTS 10 Apr 2015 GEOS-Chem Support Team geos-chem-support@g.harvard.edu Overview: =============================================================================== This directory contains non-emissions data for input to various GEOS-Chem chemistry modules. These are read directly from GEOS-Chem and not via HEMCO. Symbolic links were made to the following directories in ../GEOS_NATIVE: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FastJ_201204/ : T and O3 profiles for input to FAST-JX. Linoz_200910/ : Climatological inputs for the LINOZ linear stratospheric O3 chemistry. MODIS_LAI_201204/ : MODIS leaf area index data. These data have to be read in conjunction with the Olson landm ap modis_surf_201210/2x25/ : Input files for the RRTMG radiative transfer model on the GEOS-Chem 2 x 2.5 grid. modis_surf_201210/4x5/ : Input files for the RRTMG radiative transfer model on the GEOS-Chem 4 x 5 grid. Olson_Land_Map_201203/ : Olson Land map data. These need to be read in the Olson land map module of GEOS-Chem and cannot be read by HEMCO. UCX_201403/ : UCX input data (latitude-altitude). These directories contain bpch files copied from the prior path: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RRTMG_201411/ : Inputs for the RRTMG radiative transfer model In these directories, netCDF files were created from older bpch files. This allows us to maintain backwards compatibility as we retire bpch input completely from GEOS-Chem. ann_mean_trop_200202/ : Contains annual mean tropopause data for GEOS-4 and GCAP met fields, in netCDF format. These directories contain ascii data files historically stored in the GEOS-Chem Unit Tester for use in unit testing and run directory creation: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FAST_JX/ : Contains dated subdirectories with ascii data files used in photolysis
