Streets, all in csv format - 05x05_gen -> data on the global initial 0.5 x 0.5 generic grid, in bpch format - 1x1_gen -> final data sets on the 1x1 generic grid, in bpch format (has also the seasonal variations for NOx and CO) - GEOS_0.5x0.666_CH -> final data for GEOS5 China nested grid - IDL -> IDL routines used to generate Bpch files - plots -> plots of some of the emissions from bpch files for testing purposes - README -> this file - Chinese_CO_NOx_emissions_notes.doc -> yxw doc describing the process to get the monthly emissions used here to get the seasonal variations valid for the 2006 data. DATA ------------------- We are basically dealing with two set of data. One for NOx/CO/SO2..., and one with a GEOS-Chem speciation for VOC. Note that biofuel emiss. are not separated from the anthropo ones: residential sector includes both biofuel and fossil fuel emissions. - The filename format for files used in GEOS-Chem is: Streets___2006.generic.1x1 (for 1x1) Streets___2006.geos5.05x0666 (for nested GEOS5 China) where is for the species: NOx, ACET,... and is for the sources: pow (power), ind (industry),... - Files including all sources together have been produced: Streets__2006.generic.1x1 (for 1x1) Streets__2006.geos5.05x0666 (for nested GEOS5 China) but they are not used in GEOS-Chem, so we can use the 2020 scale factors which are applied by sectors (2020 scaling is hardwired in the code). - The location of the data file in the GC data directory structure is: /STREETS_200803 ! for data on the 1x1 generic grid /Streets_200812/ ! for 0.5x0.666 Streets data where is /as/data/geos/GEOS_1x1/ at Harvard is /as/data/geos/GEOS_0.5x0.666_CH/ at Harvard ----------------------------------------------------------- Original README from David Streets for the two sets of data: ----------------------------------------------------------- This Asia VOC inventory dataset is developed for Harvard University.
