Night Bry data was equal to day Bry data. This bug is found in the GEOS-5 2x2.5, GEOS-5 1x1 and all GEOS-4 Strat Bry fields. The problem is not present GEOS-5 4x5 Strat Bry fields. The correct daytime and night time Strat Bry fields from Qing Liang are now contained in the netCDF files in this directory, in 2 x 2.5 horizontal resolution and GEOS-5/MERRA/GEOS-FP vertical resolution. Christoph Keller (ckeller@seas.harvard.edu) wrote: I updated strat_chem_mod.F90 so that it now reads the [corrected Bry data from Qiang Liang through HEMCO. I had to add some more functionality to HEMCO to make sure that the remapping from the native GEOS-5 levels onto the reduced grid was done properly. HEMCO can now freely remap between native and reduced GEOS levels. The one thing that HEMCO currently cannot do is remapping from GEOS-5 onto GEOS-4 levels. I’m not sure if that would be a useful feature (is anyone still running w/ GEOS-4?). If so, let me know and I can quickly add this functionality. There is no additional Fortran code, though. It’s simply to avoid listing the stratospheric fields in the base emissions section, and to quickly enable/disable the usage of these fields (when running w/ UCX, just turn off the GMI_StratChem toggle and all Bry fields will be ignored by HEMCO). I haven’t added the other stratospheric chemistry input fields to HEMCO yet, i.e. the GMI prod/loss rates are still read within strat_chem_mod.F90. Including them in HEMCO should be straight-forward, though. Please let me know if you have any questions.
