README -- describes contents of RCP_201206 22 Jul 2013 GEOS-Chem Support Team geos-chem-support@g.harvard.edu Files: =============================================================================== RCP26/RCP26_aircraft_YYYY.2x25.bpch : Emissions for the RCP2.6 scenario RCP26_anthropogenic_YYYY.2x25.bpch from biomass burning, aircraft, RCP26_biomassburning_YYYY.2x25.bpch anthropogenic, and ship sources. RCP26_ships_YYYY.2x25.bpch RCP45/RCP45_aircraft_YYYY.2x25.bpch : Emissions for the RCP4.5 scenario RCP45_anthropogenic_YYYY.2x25.bpch from biomass burning, aircraft, RCP45_biomassburning_YYYY.2x25.bpch anthropogenic, and ship sources. RCP45_ships_YYYY.2x25.bpch RCP60/RCP60_aircraft_YYYY.2x25.bpch : Emissions for the RCP6.0 scenario RCP60_anthropogenic_YYYY.2x25.bpch from biomass burning, aircraft, RCP60_biomassburning_YYYY.2x25.bpch anthropogenic, and ship sources. RCP60_ships_YYYY.2x25.bpch RCP85/RCP85_aircraft_YYYY.2x25.bpch : Emissions for the RCP8.5 scenario RCP85_anthropogenic_YYYY.2x25.bpch from biomass burning, aircraft, RCP85_biomassburning_YYYY.2x25.bpch anthropogenic, and ship sources. RCP85_ships_YYYY.2x25.bpch Data files were prepared by Chris Holmes (cdholmes@uci.edu). More information on the implementation of RCP emissions in GEOS-Chem can be found online at: http://acmg.seas.harvard.edu/geos/wiki_docs/emissions/GEOS-Chem_RCP_emissions.pdf Addendum (04 Feb 2015): ------------------------ NOTE: We have added the files RCP26/RCP26_anthropogenic_YYYY.2x25.OCfix.bpch RCP26_ships_YYYY.2x25.OCfix.bpch RCP45/RCP45_anthropogenic_YYYY.2x25.OCfix.bpch RCP45_ships_YYYY.2x25.OCfix.bpch RCP85/RCP85_anthropogenic_YYYY.2x25.OCfix.bpch RCP85_ships_YYYY.2x25.OCfix.bpch which include a fix for inconsistent molecular weights of OC. The original IPCC RCP emission files for RCPs 2.6, 4.5, and 8.5 use a molecular weight of 106.8 g/mol, while RCP 6.0 uses a molecular weight of 12 g/mol. Evan Couzo has provided new 2x2.5 emission files for GEOS-Chem with the OC emission rate adjusted by 106.8/12 for RCPs 2.6, 4.5, and 8.5.
