In this folder, are the NEI data for 2006 and 2010 processed by Katie Travis.
Original gridded data were on a 12 km x 12km Lambert Conical Conformal Grid.

Acknowledgment:
We acknowledge the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for providing 2006 and
2010 North American emission inventories. These emission inventories are
intended for research purposes and were developed for Phase 2 of the Air Quality
Model Evaluation International Initiative (AQMEII) using information from the
2008-based modeling platform (http://www.epa.gov/ttn/chief/emch/index.html#2008)
as a starting point.

Notes:
Emissions are distributed on 3-levels, and were averaged from hourly resolution
for each day of the year, to average weekend/weekday hourly files for each
month.  Thus for each month of the year, there is a set of weekend and weekday
files containing hourly emissions.

There are 4 separate files that make a complete inventory:
1. Surface inventory
2. ptipm  = electric generating units (EGUs)
3. ptnonipm = non-EGU industrial stacks
4. c3marine = ships

Emission species were mapped from the CBO5 mechanism to the Geos-Chem chemical
mechanism.
