README -- Describes contents of HEMCO/CO2/v2014-09/BBIO 23 Feb 2015 GEOS-Chem Support Team geos-chem-support@g.harvard.edu Overview: =============================================================================== This directory contains balanced biosphere data archived from the CASA model, which is needed by the GEOS-Chem CO2 simulation. The original data files were stored in these directory paths GEOS_2x2.5/CO2_200508/BBIO_DAILYAVG/CO2.daily.geos.2x25.* GEOS_2x2.5/CO2_200508/BBIO_DIURNAL/nep.geos.2x25.* Christoph Keller converted these data to COARDS-compliant netCDF files for compatibility with HEMCO. Files: =============================================================================== BBIO_daily_CO2.nc -- Balanced biosphere daily average, from the CASA model Resolution : GEOS-Chem 2 x 2.5 grid (144 x 91 boxes) Units : kg m-2 s-1 Timestamps : Daily, 2000/01/01 thru 2000/12/31 BBIO_diurnal_CO2.nc -- Daily jnet ecosystem production (NEP) fluxes with a diurnal cycle imposed. These are archived from the CASA model. Resolution : GEOS-Chem 2 x 2.5 grid (144 x 91 boxes) Units : kg m-2 s-1 Timestamps : Every 3 hours from 1985/01/01 thru 1985/12/31 References: =============================================================================== Daily averaged data: Data Source: CASA gridded (1x1) dataset for from M. Thompson Monthly values interpolated to daily values : 365 daily files NB : These files DO NOT have the diurnal cycle in daily emissions Data with diurnal cycle imposed: Olsen, S. C., and J. T.
